Please send details of any FreeBSD related events or events that are of interest for FreeBSD users which are not listed here to freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org.

Users with organizational software that uses the iCalendar format can subscribe to the FreeBSD events calendar which contains all of the events listed here.

    COSCUP is an annual conference held by Taiwanese Open Source community participants since 2006. FreeBSD will be well represented with both talks and a table to educate people about FreeBSD.

  • Berlin FreeBSD DevSummit, Bally Wulff Games & Entertainment GmbH, Berlin, Germany

    This devsummit will be run "un-conference" style, meaning that the agenda is made by the participants. People can give talks or form working groups around a topic of interest. Developers can invite guests by adding them to the wiki page. You do not have to have a commit bit to contribute to this event.

  • HKOSCON 2019, Convention Centre 2, Hong Kong Science Park, Shatin
    14 - 15 June, 2019
    Hong Kong Open Source Conference is one of the major open source conferences in Hong Kong since its first commencement in 2013, bringing an international crowd of developers, contributors, users, IT managers, and students. There will be a FreeBSD table and talk to promote FreeBSD.

  • Vienna Security Hackathon 2019, SBA Research, Vienna, Austria
    8 - 9 June, 2019
    This hackathon in Vienna is focused on security, but this is not a strict requirement. The basic idea is to get together with FreeBSD hackers to discuss and work directly on issues resolving as many as we can over the long weekend. Fixing bugs, writing code, adding features, improving the documentation, working on ports, and such are all welcome activities at the event. There is also a sightseeing tour planned on the Monday after.

    The Free and Open Source Software Developers' European Meeting (FOSDEM) is a free event for software hackers to meet, share ideas and collaborate. Every year 8000+ open source developers from all over the world gather at the event in Brussels, Belgium. During the FOSDEM, developer rooms (devrooms) are assigned to self organized open source groups and projects to meet together and showcase their projects; a BSD devroom will host talks about BSD operating systems and projects.     EuroBSDcon is the European annual technical conference gathering users and developers working on and with 4.4BSD (Berkeley Software Distribution) based operating systems family and related projects. EuroBSDcon gives the exceptional opportunity to learn about latest news from the BSD world, witness contemporary deployment case studies, and meet personally other users and companies using BSD oriented technologies. EuroBSDcon is also a boiler plate for ideas, discussions and information exchange, which often turn into programming projects. The conference has always attracted active programmers, administrators and aspiring students, as well as IT companies at large, which found the conference a convenient and quality training option for its staff. We firmly believe that high profile education is vital to the future of technology, and hence greatly welcome students and young people to this regular meeting.

    An unconference style developer summit with a focus on interactive topics and sessions that reflect the interests of the attendees. The Cambridge devsummit is a slightly longer three-day event without associated conference, letting us hold more extended working groups, brainstorming sessions, and hacking on topics over several days. Past significant focuses have included virtualisation, network performance, sandboxing, tracing/debugging, packages and package security, teaching, non-x86 architectures such as ARM/MIPS/RISC-V, and testing.
